Hamp Lyons – Heasley (2006) offers seven ways for writers to link sentences to texts. To some extent, these overlap with the four strategies proposed by oshima-Hogue (2006) above in this subsection. On the other hand – on the other hand, the first – however, on the one hand, is the second, in fact, but, on the other hand, from the point of view of social attraction as the basis of group membership, the resemblance between the members of the group is the key word for individuals to classify themselves and others into a group or an outgroup.  From this perspective, the more like-for-like individuals are between them and the other members of the group, the stronger the group leader will be.  Albert Lott and Bernice Lott studied how group cohesiveness influenced individual learning. They wanted to test whether learning was better if children were studying with their peers they loved rather than with their peers they did not like.  The degree of sympathy of the members was assumed to be a reference to group concentration. They found that children with high IQ performed better on learning tests when they learned in highly cohesive groups than groups. However, in children with low IQ, the cohesive factor made little difference. Nevertheless, there was a slight tendency for children with low IQ to achieve better results in highly cohesive groups.
The researchers thought that if children worked with other students they liked, they would be more willing to learn than if they had neutral or negative attitudes towards the group. People in cohesive groups experience better emotional adjustment. In particular, there is less anxiety and tension.   It has also been found that people are better able to cope with stress when they belong to a cohesive group.   The cohesion and motivation of team members are key factors that contribute to a company`s performance. Through the development of adaptability, self-esteem and the growth of personal motivation, each member becomes able to feel confident and progress as a team. Social loafing is rarer when there is cohesion within a team; the motivation of each member of the team is much greater.  Difficult entry criteria or procedures for a group tend to present them in a more exclusive light.
